About Juvenile Community Corrections

Mission Statement: The mission of Johnson County Community Corrections Juvenile is to reduce and prevent juvenile delinquency by offering evidence-based programming in order to strengthen families and increase public safety.

Vision Statement: The vision of Johnson County Community Corrections Juvenile is to offer prevention and early intervention options to families, schools, youth serving agencies, and juvenile justice system of Johnson County that promotes productive behaviors, appropriate family dynamics, and is viewed as a state leader in juvenile justice practices.

Core Values:

  1. Respect: To respect the authority of the judicial process, those enforcing the process, and all that are served.
  • Responsibility: To responsibly serve the juvenile justice system, and citizens of Johnson County, in maintaining public safety, by offering a range of effective strategies, that meet the community need.
  • Accountability: To closely monitor staff integrity to the evidence-based program models offered, as well as participant participation, and expectations.
  • Safety: To present a staff that is knowledgeable of, and abides by, the laws of the County and State, and who are adequately equipped and trained in working with youth and families.
  • Effectiveness: To statistically prove improvement in school attendance, competence in strategies presented through alternative programming, and an overall reduction in risk factors.
  • Individuality: To present a staff that is trained and knowledgeable in recognizing cultural differences, learning disabilities, personality types, and learning styles so that all users of our services have an equal opportunity for success.
  • Partnerships: To foster an environment that brings about shared resources and responsibility to improve effectiveness and a better work climate.
